Software Engineer – Cloud Images

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential open-source software organization seeking a Software Engineer to focus on cloud infrastructure, automation, and Linux-based image delivery. This is a fully remote role available across EMEA, LATAM, Canada, and the USA. You'll collaborate with major public cloud partners to build reliable pipelines and enhance server platforms for modern workloads including containerized applications and AI infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain automated image delivery, testing, and publication pipelines
• Design and implement cloud-related features and enhancements for Linux server environments
• Develop build systems using Python, Jenkins, and shell scripting
• Operate continuous delivery pipelines for server, VM, and container products
• Integrate products with cloud-native services across major public cloud platforms
• Debug complex issues and deliver high-quality code fixes
• Participate in code reviews and architectural design discussions
• Engage directly with cloud partners and the open-source community
• Collaborate with distributed engineering teams globally
• Travel 2-4 weeks annually for team events and partner meetings

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, STEM, or equivalent field
• Practical experience working with public cloud platforms
• Strong Python software development experience on Linux systems
• Interest and hands-on experience in at least 3 of: containers (Docker, Kubernetes), DevOps automation, open-source projects, APIs, Linux systems administration, Python packaging, cloud-based applications
• Passion for technology and collaborative problem-solving
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Self-motivated, flexible, and accountable working style
• Value for both technical excellence and interpersonal skills
