Senior IT & OT Systems Specialist (gn)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential manufacturing organization with international production and distribution sites. Our client is seeking a Senior IT & OT Systems Specialist to bridge production operations and IT infrastructure while driving modern automation and Industry 4.0 solutions.

In this role, you will:

• Serve as the central interface between production departments, operational technology (OT), and IT systems
• Maintain and continuously develop MES systems and production-related applications including their peripheral systems
• Analyze new requirements from production facilities and implement solutions in collaboration with internal and external partners
• Perform customizing and optimization of production-relevant systems
• Develop security concepts for a safe and future-proof OT landscape in cooperation with the security team
• Plan, coordinate, and implement new systems as well as technical changes within the production environment
• Identify opportunities for standardization, digitalization, and automation of international production processes
• Manage external service providers and ensure sustainable documentation of the system landscape

What We're Looking For

• University degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or comparable vocational training with relevant professional experience
• Several years of experience in production IT, OT, or industrial system environments
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, production systems, and modern Industry 4.0 concepts
• Ideally, experience with MES systems, OPC UA, or comparable industrial interfaces
• Enthusiasm for bringing together technical and functional requirements
• Structured, solution-oriented, and independent working approach
• Very good German and English language skills for collaboration in an international environment
• Willingness to undertake occasional international travel
