About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential client in the electric vehicle charging infrastructure sector, based in München. Our talent team is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer IoT & Connectivity to join a rapidly growing technical organization at the forefront of Germany's transition to electric mobility.
In this role, you will ensure reliable connectivity across charging infrastructure, working at the intersection of embedded software, IoT connectivity, and payment systems. You will contribute significantly to the stability and advancement of a technical platform supporting thousands of installed devices.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain embedded software for routers, connectivity solutions, and payment terminals
- Manage firmware updates and rollouts for the installed device fleet
- Ensure reliable communication between charging stations, routers, and payment systems
- Analyze and resolve technical issues in networking, cellular connectivity, and VPN infrastructure
- Develop solutions for monitoring, remote maintenance, and device automation
- Collaborate closely with hardware, software, and operations teams on infrastructure advancement
What We're Looking For
- Completed degree in Computer Science, Embedded Systems, Electrical Engineering, or comparable field
- Several years of experience in embedded software development
- Excellent knowledge of Python and C or C++
- Experience with embedded systems and hardware-level software development
- Knowledge of IoT, cloud technologies, and networked devices
- Experience with firmware management and device fleet management is advantageous
- Strong knowledge of network protocols including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and HTTPS
- Experience with VPN technologies such as WireGuard, OpenVPN, or IPsec
- Knowledge of LTE and 5G communication is a plus
- Excellent German language skills and good English proficiency, both written and spoken
