Senior Finanzbuchhalter (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential organization in Berlin that needs a Senior Financial Accountant to take ownership of critical accounting processes across multiple entities. You will ensure all business transactions are recorded completely, accurately, and on time, forming the foundation for reliable financial management.

Your day-to-day work includes:

• Managing full-cycle financial accounting for multiple legal entities independently
• Preparing monthly and annual financial statements according to HGB standards
• Overseeing accounts payable and receivable, including account reconciliation and quality assurance
• Processing payment runs, coordinating with banks and external service providers as needed
• Managing travel and credit card expense processing in compliance with internal policies
• Reconciling and maintaining fixed assets and inventory records with complete documentation
• Serving as the primary contact for auditors, tax advisors, and internal stakeholders during reviews
• Identifying process improvements and actively contributing to standardization of accounting workflows
• Providing technical guidance and support to colleagues across the finance team

What We're Looking For

• Minimum five years of hands-on experience in financial accounting with proven ability to prepare monthly and annual closings independently
• Commercial apprenticeship, degree in Finance/Accounting, or equivalent qualification
• Strong knowledge of German accounting principles (HGB) and confident handling of complex accounting matters
• Proficiency with DATEV and solid understanding of digital accounting processes
• Highly organized, detail-oriented work style with ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines reliably
• Solution-focused mindset—you investigate discrepancies independently and develop practical, technically sound solutions
• Strong team player with clear, professional communication skills for internal departments and external partners
• Fluent German required (written and spoken); English skills are welcomed but not mandatory
• Bilanzbuchhalter or Steuerfachwirt certification is a plus but not required
