Responsibilities

Our client, a well-established energy infrastructure organisation operating in alpine and rural regions of Switzerland, is seeking an experienced electrical engineering professional to lead substation projects in medium- and high-voltage systems.

In this role, you will:

• Take full responsibility for substation projects from technical concept through successful commissioning
• Plan and design systems, components, and concepts for new installations, modifications, and renewals in medium- and high-voltage networks
• Perform calculations, specifications, and technical evaluations of solution alternatives
• Prepare tender documents, obtain quotations, and evaluate suppliers
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and interfaces to ensure smooth delivery
• Coordinate and lead project teams as well as external vendors
• Support approval processes with relevant authorities
• Work regularly on-site in valley and mountain locations, not from a central office

What We're Looking For

• Degree or advanced qualification in electrical engineering (university or technical college level) or comparable qualification
• Several years of experience in substation engineering and leading energy distribution projects, ideally in challenging alpine terrain
• Strong technical knowledge of medium- and high-voltage systems; experience with control and protection systems is an advantage
• Fluent German for business contexts; additional languages beneficial
• Strategic thinking, independence, and strong commitment
• Willingness to work in remote mountain locations and accept longer commutes when required

Depending on your experience, this position may be offered at a senior level with expanded overall project responsibility.
