Senior Software Engineer, Storage

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential social technology client in their search for a Senior Software Engineer to join their Storage Infrastructure team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale distributed systems serving hundreds of millions of users daily.

Our client operates one of the internet's largest data infrastructures, handling hundreds of millions of queries per second across thousands of machines. You'll be solving complex technical challenges at a scale few engineers ever experience, working with cutting-edge storage technologies that support machine learning, AI, and search workloads.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development of long-term technical strategy for storage infrastructure serving hundreds of millions of users
• Design, refine, and maintain distributed data storage and caching systems handling terabytes of data
• Own infrastructure for data writes, reads, and storage, including both managed and self-hosted solutions
• Build tooling and automation to efficiently operate large-scale storage infrastructure
• Mentor engineers across the organization on designing and building scalable storage services
• Partner with ML, AI, and search teams to deliver technical solutions that support product growth
• Maintain extremely high availability and reliability standards for production systems

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience building internet-scale software, preferably with focus on distributed storage infrastructure
• Strong software development skills in one or more languages: Golang, Python, C++, or Java
• Hands-on experience implementing features, optimizations, and bug fixes in distributed storage systems
• Degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical field
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with engineering, data science, machine learning, and product teams
• Experience with storage technologies such as Postgres, MySQL, Cassandra, Redis, or Memcache is highly valued
• Track record of designing and operating high-availability production systems
