Senior Security Consultant

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cybersecurity organization in their search for a Senior Security Consultant to join their European team. This client-facing role focuses on implementing exposure management solutions that help organizations identify, assess, and reduce cyber risk across their attack surface. You'll work directly with enterprise clients across Germany, Italy, and the Netherlands, delivering billable consultancy that combines technical implementation with strategic security advisory.

Responsibilities

• Lead the installation, configuration, and deployment of enterprise vulnerability management and exposure management platforms for clients
• Execute large-scale customer engagements, managing implementation projects from scoping through delivery
• Oversee system upgrades, migrations, and integrations, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, configuration audits, and security monitoring engagements using industry-standard toolsets
• Develop and maintain security policies, standards, and procedures aligned with frameworks such as ISO 17799, CIS, PCI, GLBA, and HIPAA
• Provide consultative guidance on exposure management program maturity, helping clients advance their security posture
• Train client teams on security solution implementation, configuration, and operational best practices
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted security advisor
• Independently manage client escalations, coordinating with internal delivery teams as needed
• Deliver thought leadership on deployment methodologies and security workflow optimization

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience in Information Technology or Cybersecurity, with demonstrated professional services or consulting experience
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience
• Fluency in English plus Italian, Dutch, or French – you'll be leading multi-hour client calls and technical workshops
• Recent hands-on experience performing vulnerability scanning, configuration audits, and security monitoring
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting capabilities for diagnosing complex security issues
• Proficiency in assessing threats, risks, and vulnerabilities across host and network configurations
• Familiarity with penetration testing tools such as Metasploit and exploit frameworks
• Understanding of application security testing, OWASP standards, and common web application vulnerabilities
• Knowledge of IT security principles across networks, operating systems, firewalls, databases, cloud infrastructure, and identity/access management
• Experience developing integrations via REST API using Python or similar languages
• Proven ability to manage client expectations and deliver consultative advice that drives successful outcomes
• Comfortable with self-directed remote work and able to travel to client sites as needed
• Knowledge of SCADA and OT systems is a plus
• Industry-recognized technical certifications preferred
