About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential alternative data intelligence firm seeking a Senior Research Consultant in London. Our client helps institutional investors and corporations discover, evaluate, and leverage data for strategic decision-making. This is a senior, client-facing role where you'll own consulting engagements end-to-end—from scoping and analysis through to delivery and stakeholder presentations.

This position sits within the Research function and requires someone who can operate independently, manage multiple concurrent projects, and represent the organization confidently in front of senior client stakeholders. You'll produce polished written deliverables, structure complex analyses, and translate technical data insights into actionable recommendations.

Responsibilities

• Own consulting engagements from kick-off through delivery, managing scope, timelines, quality, and serving as the day-to-day client point of contact
• Structure project workstreams and personally produce underlying analysis and written deliverables across data product strategy, pricing, go-to-market planning, and buyer validation
• Lead client meetings, working sessions, and delivery presentations, fielding detailed questions from senior stakeholders and translating complex data and market intelligence into clear recommendations
• Plan and manage multiple concurrent engagements, proactively identifying and managing risks, dependencies, and resourcing needs
• Collaborate with internal teams for specialist input while maintaining ownership of core deliverables and client-facing work
• Contribute to scoping, pricing input, and follow-on opportunities while developing internal frameworks and client-facing insights
• Build deep expertise in data monetization, external data markets, and buyer expectations

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in consulting, strategy, alternative data, analytics, or a related advisory role—from several years' experience through to seasoned practitioners
• Demonstrated project management experience, ideally leading complete engagements rather than individual workstreams
• Confident, polished client-facing skills with comfort presenting to and fielding scrutiny from senior stakeholders independently
• Strong written communication skills and a track record of personally producing (not just reviewing) high-quality client deliverables
• Independent working style with a track record of owning outcomes and supporting wider teams
• Knowledge of data products, data strategy, or data monetization concepts
• Ability to handle ambiguity, exercise judgment, and remain composed with demanding clients

Location: London (Moorgate area) with hybrid working arrangements. Quarterly international travel anticipated.

Pay

Competitive base salary and incentive package. Specific compensation details will be discussed during the screening process based on experience level.
