Senior Project Manager für digitale Verwaltungsprojekte – Migration und Inneres (all genders)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential public-sector technology organization seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead digital transformation initiatives in migration and internal affairs. In this role, you will deliver complex IT and digitalization projects with meaningful societal impact, working across the full project lifecycle.

Your responsibilities include:

• Managing end-to-end delivery of digital administration projects using agile, hybrid, or traditional methodologies
• Taking ownership of scope, timeline, budget, quality, and risk management throughout project duration
• Leading interdisciplinary project teams working across diverse technology contexts including digital government services, content management systems, form solutions, and custom IT applications
• Serving as the central coordination point between internal and external stakeholders, maintaining structured and reliable collaboration
• Working closely with public administration clients to translate requirements into viable IT solutions and digital processes
• Guiding implementations from initial concept through successful go-live
• Supporting clients through digital transformation challenges while identifying opportunities for solution enhancement and project evolution

What We're Looking For

Our ideal candidate brings:

• Several years of hands-on project management experience in development or digitalization initiatives, with proven ability to independently manage projects end-to-end
• Demonstrated experience leading interdisciplinary project teams and confidently managing scope, budget, timeline, quality, and risk
• Experience with public administration digitalization projects and/or domain knowledge in migration and internal affairs topics (strongly preferred)
• Comfort working with external clients, viewing project management as a customer-oriented delivery role
• Strong communication skills enabling you to navigate effectively across different organizational levels
• Solid command of agile and/or classical project methodologies; experience with scaled agile frameworks or hybrid project setups is a plus
• Relevant project management or agile certification such as PRINCE2, PMI, Scrum PSM/PSPO (preferred)
• Completed university degree providing the professional foundation for this role
• Excellent German and English language skills, both written and spoken
