AVP, Data, Analytics & AI Engineering

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential SaaS client seeking an AVP, Data, Analytics & AI Engineering to lead the strategic vision, architecture, development, and scaling of enterprise data platforms and AI solutions. This executive leader will transform data assets into high-performance, compliant, and secure intelligence frameworks that drive automation and strategic decision-making across the organization.

In this role, you will:

• Create advanced analytics and decision intelligence capabilities, driving predictive analytics, propensity modeling, forecasting, experimentation, causal analysis, and optimization
• Lead GenAI and agent engineering initiatives essential to the enterprise agent strategy, including MCP, RAG, embeddings/vector search, tool calling, agent architecture, evaluation, grounding, and orchestration
• Architect and govern the enterprise agentic AI strategy, deploying multi-agent frameworks and LLM-powered tools at scale
• Design and deploy enterprise-grade multi-agent AI systems for complex, multi-step workflows, integrating with ERP, CRM, and ITSM to automate high-value decisions end-to-end
• Develop internal AI tools and agents, including domain-specific LLM applications, and lead the roadmap for next-generation agentic platforms
• Drive data governance and AI readiness initiatives, covering quality, lineage, observability, catalog, access controls, PII, retention, and AI data governance
• Provide business context to semantic and context architecture, including metrics layer, business ontology, entity relationships, metadata, and knowledge graphs/semantic models
• Build, mentor, motivate, and lead a high-performance team across Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, and AI Engineering
• Partner collaboratively with business units, product teams, security, legal, and compliance teams to deliver AI and data solutions aligned to enterprise goals
• Transform the data environment into a modern data architecture beyond traditional pipelines and dashboards

This critical role requires an executive and organizational leader with extensive enterprise transformation experience who can manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You will work directly with C-level executives while building and scaling a high-performance engineering team.

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, AI/ML, Mathematics, or a highly quantitative field of study
• 12+ years of leadership experience in data and software engineering environments, with at least 5 years in a senior manager or executive role leading cross-functional teams
• Strong familiarity with core technical stack and cloud data ecosystems such as Snowflake, Databricks, Vertex AI, or AWS Sagemaker
• Experience moving to modern data architecture environments, with deep data warehouse/lakehouse experience (AWS Redshift, Databricks), streaming/batch, APIs, data products, ELT, CDC, and structured plus unstructured data
• Proven experience with AI/ML engineering and success deploying ML models into production, feature engineering, model serving, monitoring, and MLOps
• Exceptional ability to translate complex agentic systems, context-engineering strategies, and distributed database details into clear, business-relevant narratives for non-technical and executive audiences
