We are representing a confidential SaaS organization in their search for an exceptional AVP, Data, Analytics & AI Engineering based in York. Our client is at the forefront of enterprise technology, and this role will lead the strategic vision and execution of their data platforms and AI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic vision, architecture, development, and scaling of enterprise data platforms and AI solutions
• Create advanced analytics and decision intelligence capabilities including predictive analytics, forecasting, experimentation, and optimization
• Architect and govern the enterprise agentic AI strategy, deploying multi-agent frameworks and LLM-powered tools at scale
• Design and deploy enterprise-grade multi-agent AI systems for complex workflows, integrating with ERP, CRM, and ITSM platforms
• Develop internal AI tools and agents, leading the roadmap for next-generation agentic platforms
• Drive data governance and AI readiness across quality, lineage, observability, access controls, and compliance
• Establish semantic and context architecture including metrics layers, business ontology, and knowledge graphs
• Build, mentor, and lead high-performance teams across Data Engineering, Analytics Engineering, and AI Engineering
• Partner collaboratively with business units, product teams, security, legal, and compliance to deliver solutions aligned to enterprise goals
• Transform data architecture beyond traditional pipelines into a modern, scalable environment
• Work directly with C-suite executives to drive organizational transformation

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, AI/ML, Mathematics, or a highly quantitative field
• 12+ years of leadership experience in data and software engineering environments
• At least 5 years in a senior manager or executive role leading cross-functional teams
• Strong familiarity with cloud data ecosystems such as Snowflake, Databricks, Vertex AI, or AWS Sagemaker
• Experience implementing modern data architecture including data warehouse/lakehouse platforms, streaming/batch processing, APIs, and data products
• Proven experience with AI/ML engineering, including deploying ML models into production, feature engineering, model serving, monitoring, and MLOps
• Hands-on knowledge of GenAI/Agent Engineering including RAG, embeddings, vector search, agent architecture, and orchestration
• Exceptional ability to translate complex technical systems into clear, business-relevant narratives for non-technical and executive audiences
• Experience in fast-paced SaaS environments with enterprise transformation leadership
• Demonstrated success in building and scaling high-performance engineering teams
