Senior Manager, Capabilities, Organisation Effectiveness & Agility

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential consulting organisation seeking a Senior Manager to lead Product & Platform operating model transformations. You will contribute to and lead workstreams helping clients redesign how they organise, govern, fund and deliver products and platforms. Working with senior stakeholders across business, digital and technology, you will translate strategic priorities into practical changes affecting organisation structure, governance, funding, capabilities and ways of working.

Your role involves helping clients address critical questions about their operating model:

• Defining which capabilities should operate as Products or Platforms
• Establishing clear accountability for customer, business and technology outcomes
• Designing how Product, Engineering, Architecture, Data and Operations collaborate
• Balancing team autonomy with appropriate enterprise governance
• Shifting investment from project-based to persistent product and platform funding
• Managing demand and capacity across the organisation
• Enabling enterprise platforms to operate as products for internal consumers
• Measuring whether the Product & Platform model creates tangible value
• Transitioning from current structures without disrupting critical delivery

You will support clients across five core areas:

• Product and Platform Operating Model Design: Designing structures, taxonomies, roles, accountabilities, decision rights, governance and persistent multidisciplinary teams
• Portfolio Governance, Funding & Value: Redesigning investment and prioritisation approaches, connecting strategy to products and platforms through clear outcomes, OKRs and value measures
• Ways of Working & Delivery Optimisation: Improving flow from demand and discovery through delivery and operation, strengthening agile practices, planning, prioritisation and cross-functional collaboration
• Workforce, Capability & Adoption: Defining roles, skills, capacity and capability requirements while supporting leaders and teams through new accountabilities
• Transition & Implementation: Translating designs into roadmaps, pilots and implementation plans, sequencing changes across organisation, governance, workforce, funding and delivery

What we're looking for

Essential experience and skills:

• Strong experience designing and implementing Product & Platform models in large, complex organisations, including organisational structures, roles, accountabilities, decision rights and governance
• Deep understanding of product-centric transformation, including the shift from project-based delivery to persistent multidisciplinary teams and how Product Management integrates with Engineering, Architecture, Data, Design and Operations
• Experience shaping enablers including portfolio governance, investment and funding, demand and capacity management, workforce allocation and outcome-based performance measures
• Practical experience with modern delivery approaches such as Agile at Scale, OKRs, Lean Portfolio Management and Team Topologies, with the ability to apply these pragmatically rather than prescriptively
• Proven ability translating operating model designs into practical implementation through transition roadmaps, organisational change support and confident engagement with senior Digital, Technology, Change and Operational stakeholders through ambiguity
• Strong consulting and leadership skills including hypothesis-driven problem solving, working in multidisciplinary teams, developing others, and contributing to proposals and new business opportunities

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process and are competitive with the market for senior-level consulting roles in London.
