Production Underwriter

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential specialty insurance organization seeking a Production Underwriter to join their Property and Casualty division. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse portfolio, drive business growth, and work with broker partners across the United States.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite new and renewal property and casualty business by analyzing policy forms, endorsement requests, and submitted documentation according to established underwriting standards
• Evaluate risks by assessing coverage value, location, usage, safety features, and other pertinent factors to determine whether to accept, modify, or decline each submission
• Establish appropriate coverage limits, premiums, policy terms, and conditions based on comprehensive risk assessment
• Manage an active portfolio of property and casualty accounts while ensuring compliance with state regulations and carrier guidelines
• Provide premium forecasts and business plans to support budgetary and performance objectives
• Collaborate with internal teams to manage production activities including submissions, quotes, binds, and policy issuance
• Build and maintain professional relationships with brokers in your designated portfolio and create customized insurance solutions to meet client needs
• Identify new business opportunities, maximize retention, and conduct timely renewal reviews to achieve business targets
• Participate in marketing activities, industry seminars, and training to stay current on market dynamics and emerging P&C underwriting trends

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Risk Management, Actuarial Science, Business Administration, or related discipline (commensurate work experience considered)
• 5+ years of experience in Property and Casualty Underwriting
• Must meet minimum requirements for state P&C and/or surplus line licenses
• Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation is a plus
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex risk exposures
• Proven track record in portfolio management and broker relationship development
• Knowledge of state and federal insurance regulations
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities

Pay

This position offers a competitive compensation package. Our client provides a target salary range of $96,000 to $120,000 annually, along with eligibility for bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package including paid parental leave, mental health services, paid time off, and more.
