Content Designer (Contract)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing AI software platform in their search for a Contract Content Designer based in London. This is a full-time contract engagement where you'll shape the voice across both product interfaces and web presence for a high-velocity product team.

Our client is building at the intersection of AI and software creation, serving everyone from solo founders to enterprise teams. Since launching recently, they've seen exceptional adoption and are now focused on making their entire experience — from first click to power user — feel coherent, clear, and confidence-building.

Responsibilities

• Own copy for critical product moments: onboarding flows, empty states, error messages, upgrade prompts, and credit notifications
• Name features, settings, and surfaces so the product's vocabulary stays internally consistent
• Write and revise marketing page copy in partnership with product marketing, ensuring current messaging is reflected on the site
• Collaborate with an external design partner on content hierarchy, information architecture, and top-level navigation
• Diagnose and fix existing pages that aren't landing — focusing on hierarchy, scannability, and messaging that works at speed
• Work embedded with marketing and design teams, with full context on how messaging decisions are made

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years in content design or UX writing, with a portfolio demonstrating both in-product copy and marketing/web work
• Real examples of shipped in-product copy: onboarding, empty states, errors, upgrade moments — and the measurable impact of your work
• Real web examples where your copy carries the core argument, not just headlines
• Ability to identify precisely where messaging fails on a skim, then rewrite it effectively
• Clear point of view on brand voice, with examples of how you've delivered complex messages on-brand
• Comfort working at high velocity in Figma, alongside product designers and PMs rather than downstream
• Experience partnering with external agencies as well as internal stakeholders
• Genuine full-time capacity for the contract duration — this must be your primary focus
• Bonus: Content strategy instincts and SEO awareness (not core scope, but valuable)
