Senior Machine Learning Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential logistics technology company operating across Europe. Our client is building machine learning systems that power real-time operations at scale, handling thousands of data points per transaction in a live network where quality and reliability are essential.

As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer, you will own the end-to-end productionisation of models—from training pipelines through live integration to measured business impact. You'll build and mature the ML platform, evolving model serving architecture and setting standards for how the organisation ships ML at scale.

Responsibilities

• Deploy and operate production ML models that run in the critical path of live operations
• Build reusable ML platform components and establish org-wide standards for model deployment
• Architect integration and system testing within training pipelines, including automated releases and drift monitoring
• Collaborate with data scientists to launch and validate model improvements in production environments
• Measure real-world business impact of ML systems and iterate based on performance data
• Work across Python and Rust codebases, choosing the right tool for throughput-critical applications
• Maintain cloud-native services on GCP, including Kubernetes deployments and model serving endpoints

What We're Looking For

• At least 2 years deploying and operating models in production environments
• At least 4 years building software on high-performing engineering teams
• Strong software engineering fundamentals with experience in Python; Rust experience is a plus
• Comfortable diving into unfamiliar codebases and languages to integrate models into live systems
• Track record of building automation to eliminate manual processes
• Experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred) and containerised deployments
• Ability to define problems clearly and measure impact meticulously
• Entrepreneurial drive and comfort working in fast-paced, evolving environments
