Senior Java Engineer*

We are representing a confidential software consulting organization based in Darmstadt, Germany. Our client works with major enterprise clients across automotive, transportation, media, and financial services sectors, delivering custom software solutions with a strong focus on AI-native development approaches.

We're seeking a Senior Java Engineer to join their team, working on client-facing consulting and development projects. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer who wants to work with modern AI tools throughout the software development lifecycle while maintaining engineering excellence.

Responsibilities

• Work on consulting and software development projects for major enterprise clients
• Design, develop, and implement software solutions applying AI methods and tools throughout the development process, including LLMs, agentic frameworks, code generation, and test automation
• Contribute across all software engineering disciplines, writing well-designed, testable, and efficient code
• Utilize technologies such as Java, JavaScript, Spring, Kotlin, Maven, Gradle, and JUnit
• Collaborate in interdisciplinary teams directly at client sites
• Apply agile methodologies including Scrum and Design Thinking

What We're Looking For

• University degree in Computer Science or a comparable discipline
• Deep, practical experience in professional software development with Java
• Strong hands-on experience with agile methodologies
• Proactive, pragmatic, and team-oriented working style
• Fluent German (minimum C1 level) and very good English (minimum B2 level)
• Experience with AI tools in the software development process is highly valued
