Senior Engineer (Software), Enterprise

About This Opportunity

We are representing a well-funded infrastructure technology company seeking a Senior Software Engineer to lead their enterprise on-premises product development. You'll architect and own the full lifecycle of Kubernetes-based deployments, working on installation, configuration, high-availability systems, and customer-facing operational tooling in complex enterprise environments.

This is a rare opportunity to work at the intersection of DevOps engineering, platform architecture, and direct customer impact—building the systems that ensure seamless deployment and management of mission-critical infrastructure software in air-gapped, on-prem, and multi-cluster settings.

Responsibilities

• Design, architect, and implement Kubernetes-based high-availability solutions for on-premises deployments, including control plane applications, telemetry systems, air-gapped installations, and appliance offerings
• Extend and maintain a Kubernetes operator that handles installation, upgrades, and self-healing in diverse customer environments
• Develop and maintain operational management consoles and lifecycle management tooling
• Architect multi-stage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and modern DevOps technologies
• Drive releases on a six-week cadence (four weeks build, two weeks stabilization), including versioning strategy and structured release management
• Write Rust and Python across the stack, from operator internals to APIs and internal tooling
• Build internal tooling and APIs to enable integration testing for upstream application teams
• Develop comprehensive deployment documentation and establish best practice guidelines
• Participate in a weekly rotation fielding technical escalations and working directly with customer success teams to diagnose deployment and operational issues

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years in software engineering, platform engineering, or SRE roles with proven ability to write robust, maintainable production code
• Demonstrated expertise with Kubernetes, Helm charts, and deployment automation, including complex multi-cluster and multi-region deployments
• Hands-on experience building within AI-augmented development environments, including Claude Code and agentic tooling workflows
• Strong Python skills for tooling, APIs, and automation
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD systems (GitHub Actions), GitOps delivery (ArgoCD or FluxCD), and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform)
• Strong Linux systems knowledge, including administration, troubleshooting, and networking
• Solid understanding of software supply chain security, vulnerability scanning, and CVE management with tools such as Trivy, Dependabot, and GitHub code scanning
• Comfort working directly with customers to diagnose deployment and operational challenges

Nice to Have:

• Rust or Golang programming experience
• Experience with virtual appliances and air-gapped installations
• Experience deploying applications using Replicated
• Familiarity with networking concepts or distributed system architecture
• 3+ years in a B2B software startup or high-growth organization
• Open-source contributions or project involvement
