Senior DevOps Engineer

About This Role

We are representing a confidential SaaS organization seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to own and modernize CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling. This role focuses on accelerating code delivery—getting commits to production quickly, reliably, and safely across a modern microservices architecture.

You'll partner with engineering teams to reduce friction, strengthen deployment practices, and build reusable tooling that makes shipping software seamless. Our client leverages AI and automation throughout their platform strategy, and this position is central to how their engineering organization scales and evolves.

Location: Mexico. Candidates within 80 kilometers of Guadalajara may be expected to work onsite for collaboration purposes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain CI/CD pipelines as code across multiple services and engineering teams
• Improve deployment safety through progressive delivery strategies including canary, blue/green, and feature-flag-based releases
• Build reusable pipeline templates, shared libraries, and self-service tooling for consistent delivery workflows
• Optimize build performance through caching, parallelization, and other techniques that reduce pipeline execution time
• Remove friction from local development, testing, CI, and deployment workflows in partnership with engineering teams
• Integrate AI-assisted capabilities into developer workflows for pipeline diagnostics, test generation, code-review automation, and failure triage
• Implement software supply-chain security practices including dependency scanning, artifact signing, and SBOM generation
• Use Infrastructure-as-Code to provision and maintain CI/CD infrastructure
• Monitor pipeline health and deployment success to drive continuous improvements
• Enable engineering teams to adopt effective DevOps practices through clear communication and reusable solutions

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent work experience
• 5+ years of DevOps or software engineering experience with strong focus on CI/CD and developer tooling
• Hands-on experience with modern CI/CD platforms such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or Buildkite
• Experience designing pipelines as code and creating reusable pipeline templates
• Solid understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, and deploying containerized applications through CI/CD
• Working knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code including Terraform and/or Ansible
• Strong Linux administration and scripting skills using Bash, Python, or Go
• Experience with middleware or messaging technologies such as Kafka, Redis, or RabbitMQ
• Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or ELK
• Strong communication skills and proven ability to drive tooling adoption across engineering teams
• Experience with progressive delivery tooling such as Argo Rollouts, Flagger, or feature-flag platforms

Preferred experience:

• Software supply-chain security tooling such as Nexus, Sigstore/cosign, Syft/SBOM tooling, Snyk, or Trivy
• Experience applying AI/LLM-based tools to engineering workflows, including intelligent test selection, automated checks, or pipeline failure diagnostics
• Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs before incorporating them into production processes
