(Senior) Data Analyst – Business Intelligence (BI) (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology organization in Espelkamp seeking a Senior Data Analyst to establish their Business Intelligence function from the ground up. You'll be building the foundation—structures, processes, and tooling—and developing it iteratively as the business evolves.

In this role, you will:

• Establish and scale the BI department, implementing frameworks and methodologies that support data-driven decision-making across the organization
• Deliver reliable analyses, forecasts, and actionable recommendations that accelerate strategic planning for leadership, finance, and product teams
• Transform complex data landscapes into clear, navigable insights that inform high-stakes business decisions
• Monitor market trends and competitive dynamics, translating external signals into strategic opportunities
• Build reporting infrastructure using BI tools, with current systems including Qlik
• Bridge the gap between raw data and business impact, presenting insights in ways that drive action rather than delay

What We're Looking For

Our client needs someone who has genuinely built BI capabilities before—not just maintained them. You're a pragmatic analyst who sees the forest and the trees, someone comfortable working with imperfect data while being transparent about assumptions.

Required qualifications:

• Several years of experience in BI or analytics environments, with proven track record establishing structures rather than just operating within them
• Proficiency with at least one major BI platform—Qlik, Power BI, Tableau, or comparable tools
• Strategic use of AI as a tool for analysis, pattern recognition, and visualization, with judgment about when it adds value
• Very strong German language skills for stakeholder communication
• Analytical mindset combined with pragmatism and the confidence to build something new
• Ability to identify which data points matter strategically and which don't
• Skill in translating complexity into clarity for diverse audiences including C-suite, finance, and product management

Beneficial but not required:

• Industry knowledge in hosting or SaaS environments (though genuine curiosity about the business and market is essential)
