Growth Engineer (all genders) SaaS/Fintech

About This Role

We are representing a fast-growing fintech client in Berlin that is building infrastructure for small businesses. They've scaled from 100 to over 700 customers in eight months with a lean team, and they need a growth-focused engineer who can own experiments end to end.

This is a senior individual contributor role where you'll work directly with founders to shape the testing agenda, build what each experiment needs, and make measurement trustworthy. You'll have real influence on strategy, not just execute someone else's backlog.

Responsibilities

• Shape the test agenda with leadership and sync with the growth team on experiments that touch their areas
• Build landing pages, flows, tools, integrations, and automations – the simplest version that will confirm or kill a hypothesis in days or hours, not sprints
• Own measurement end to end: instrumentation, attribution, data modeling, and CRM configuration to make pipeline data reliable enough to steer by
• Run experiments from hypothesis to analysis, reading results honestly even when they contradict your own ideas
• Document learnings so the team doesn't repeat tests six months later
• Work independently with minimal management, growing your scope as fast as you grow your skills

What We're Looking For

• Marketer first, builder second: You understand funnels, messaging, positioning, and what actually moves numbers – not an engineer who "builds what marketing wants"
• AI-native: Claude or equivalent is your daily sparring partner. You augment your output with AI and automate parts of your job that shouldn't need a human – this is baseline, not a differentiator
• Entrepreneurial background strongly preferred: You've built and launched something of your own, or run a function as if it were your own company
• Hypothesis generation: You've run experiments without being handed the questions. Be ready to walk us through a real one: what you expected, what happened, what you changed
• Visual and copy judgment: You can lay out a page that looks intentional, write the headline, and articulate precisely why a weak version is weak
• Self-sufficient execution: You build tests yourself rather than wait for engineers or copywriters
• Experience with HubSpot, BigQuery, and payment platforms (Chargebee/Stripe) is ideal
• German at C1 or above required: You'll write the messaging variants you test, and that judgment cannot be delegated in this market
• English at B2 or above: The working language is English

Seniority note: Our client cares about the combination more than years. Someone with two years who has genuinely run experiments end to end beats someone with ten who always had hypotheses handed to them. Pay

Base salary range €70,000 to €100,000 depending on experience, plus stock options. Full-time permanent position based in Berlin.
