About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital transformation consultancy seeking a Senior Consultant for Search, Content & AI Visibility to join their team in Düsseldorf. Our client works with B2B manufacturing and industrial organizations across Europe, helping them maintain and grow their visibility as search evolves from traditional SEO to generative AI platforms.

In this role, you will own search and content strategy across both classical SEO and emerging generative engine optimization (GEO). You will work with manufacturing clients experiencing significant shifts in how their audiences research and discover solutions—guiding them through the transition from keyword-focused tactics to content strategies that perform in both Google and AI platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini.

Responsibilities

• Develop integrated search strategies that unite traditional SEO and AI visibility (GEO) rather than treating them as separate initiatives
• Lead technical SEO across crawling, indexing, Core Web Vitals, JavaScript rendering, log file analysis, and internal linking architecture
• Guide website relaunches and migrations to preserve and enhance organic visibility
• Design content and entity architectures aligned to B2B buying journeys, from early awareness through deep technical research
• Brief and direct content teams and client subject matter experts, reviewing output for search intent alignment and citability in LLM responses
• Conduct content audits to identify cannibalization, gaps, and opportunities, translating findings into sustainable editorial roadmaps
• Build AI visibility through structured data, entity consistency, Wikidata presence, and content optimized for citation in generative responses
• Measure AI visibility using prompt-based share of voice across multiple platforms and referral traffic analysis from generative sources
• Manage multiple client retainer accounts, delivering monthly reporting calls and quarterly strategic reviews within agreed budgets
• Present recommendations and insights to marketing leadership and C-level stakeholders
• Support new business pitches with realistic effort estimates and technical positioning
• Leverage AI tools for analysis, content optimization, and reporting while applying professional judgment to outputs
• Mentor colleagues and document processes to ensure knowledge transfer and project continuity

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years in SEO with demonstrable project ownership and accountability for outcomes
• Deep technical SEO expertise: ability to audit and prioritize large-scale sites (10,000+ URLs), fluency with Search Console including API, Screaming Frog, log file analysis, and platforms like Sistrix, Semrush, or Ahrefs
• Content strategy experience in complex B2B environments, including topic architecture, editorial planning, and quality assurance
• Strong briefing skills for content teams, ability to review against search intent and citability criteria, and judgment to identify when content lacks substance for generative platforms
• Experience with or serious study of generative engine optimization (GEO) and AI visibility tactics
• Proficiency reading GA4 and Search Console, working with BigQuery exports, and articulating measurement requirements to analytics teams
• Understanding of B2B buying journeys in manufacturing, industrial goods, machinery, or wholesale sectors (preferred)
• Analytical thinking with confidence to deliver clear, sometimes uncomfortable recommendations
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to executive audiences without oversimplification
• Pragmatic approach to client environments with legacy systems, approval bottlenecks, and technical constraints
• Advanced Excel skills
• Fluent German and professional English
