Senior Rollout Manager (f/m/x) – DACH

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential electric vehicle charging infrastructure organization seeking a Senior Rollout Manager for the DACH region. In this remote position based in Germany, you will take full accountability for successfully delivering multiple high-power charging locations from initial rollout planning and site preparation through construction, commissioning, and handover to operations.

You will own end-to-end responsibility for a portfolio of charging sites across the DACH region, with particular focus on the most complex, high-risk, or strategically important locations. Throughout the complete project lifecycle, you will manage scope, schedule, dependencies, risk exposure, cost risks, quality, safety, compliance, and operational readiness.

Your core responsibilities include:

• Translating rollout objectives into integrated site and portfolio delivery plans, defining priorities, sequencing, milestones, and dependencies with clear governance from site development and permitting through construction, commissioning, and operational handover
• Leading cross-functional delivery across planning and permitting, construction, grid connection, logistics, and other functions, driving timely decisions, resolving conflicts, and actively managing critical interfaces between land acquisition, civil works, electrical engineering, grid connection, hardware installation, testing, and commissioning
• Directly managing external planning firms, contractors, installation companies, and other delivery partners, setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, managing operational delivery and commercial risks, and ensuring partners deliver agreed outcomes
• Owning portfolio risk, change, and action management, identifying critical risks early, defining countermeasures, and leading recovery plans for delayed, blocked, or significantly off-plan sites while protecting delivery quality, safety, and compliance
• Making decisions within your delegated authority and preparing clear decision papers for senior management when escalation is required, presenting viable options, impacts, and recommendations while balancing schedule, cost, quality, technical feasibility, and stakeholder requirements
• Building and maintaining trusted relationships with authorities, grid operators, landowners, local stakeholders, and delivery partners, representing the organization professionally in complex negotiations and pragmatically resolving permitting, grid connection, land, construction, and other delivery obstacles
• Providing concise, decision-oriented reports to senior stakeholders including progress, forecast dates, forecast confidence, material risks, cost and commercial risks, partner performance, recovery actions, and decisions required to keep the portfolio on track
• Establishing and continuously improving rollout standards, governance routines, templates, and delivery guidance to increase predictability, quality, scalability, and delivery effectiveness across the DACH network

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Proven experience leading delivery of complex infrastructure, construction, energy, mobility, telecommunications, or comparable multi-site rollout programs, ideally in high-power charging infrastructure
• Track record of taking end-to-end delivery accountability across the full implementation lifecycle, not just individual project tasks or work packages
• Strong knowledge of program and project controls including integrated planning, risk management, dependency management, change control, and senior-level reporting
• Experience managing external partners and influencing internal stakeholders in a matrix organization, with confidence to constructively challenge existing approaches, make decisions, and escalate issues when required
• Solid practical understanding of interfaces between site development, permitting planning, civil engineering, electrical engineering, grid connection, commissioning, and handover to operations
• Clear, structured communication in both German and English
• Valid driver's license and willingness to regularly collaborate with teams at site locations
• Team player who delivers high-quality work under time pressure

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience delivering electric vehicle charging infrastructure, renewable energy installations, or other decentralized, customer-facing infrastructure
• Established working relationships with authorities, grid operators, landowners, and construction partners in one or more DACH markets
• Experience with high-voltage or electrical infrastructure interfaces and commissioning/handover into an operational network
• Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and Microsoft Office including advanced Excel skills or comparable project control tools
• Relevant university degree, technical qualification, or comparable professional experience in engineering, construction, infrastructure, or a related field
