About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential consulting firm specializing in sustainable transformation and infrastructure projects. Our client works with mid-market companies and large enterprises across Germany, focusing on structured financing, public funding programs, and climate innovation initiatives. This is a 100% remote position for a (Senior) Consultant in Structured Finance and Grant Funding.

As our client's strategic advisor, you will independently structure financing and funding strategies for technology and infrastructure projects. You will serve as the central interface between financial modeling, stakeholder management, and implementation—working directly with project agencies, banks, ministries, and investors on complex transformation programs.

Responsibilities

• Financial Modeling & Analysis: Build and validate integrated financial models for infrastructure and technology projects, including CAPEX/OPEX planning, cashflow analyses, KPIs, and scenario modeling
• Innovation Evaluation: Assess early-stage business models across technological, economic, and regulatory dimensions, particularly for projects in early Technology Readiness Levels (TRL)
• Grant & Public Funding: Identify, evaluate, and structure complex infrastructure funding programs (e.g., GRW, EFRE, IPCEI, InvestEU, climate protection programs); prepare comprehensive grant applications and eligible cost structures
• Structured Finance: Design tailored financing solutions for transformation and infrastructure projects; conduct bankability analyses to optimize financing capacity for innovative business models
• Stakeholder Management: Lead communications with project agencies, ministries, regional funding bodies, banks, venture debt providers, and impact investors
• End-to-End Project Leadership: Independently manage financing and funding processes from concept through successful close; prepare executive decision papers, presentations, and information memoranda
• Strategic Research: Direct market, competitive, and technology research to inform decision-making

What We're Looking For

• Experience: Minimum 2–4 years in investment banking (Analyst/Associate level), corporate finance, M&A/infrastructure advisory, or complex grant management
• Education: Completed degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Sustainability Management, or comparable qualification
• Technical Skills: Advanced financial modeling expertise in Excel is required; strong analytical understanding of numbers and complex project structures
• Domain Knowledge: Experience with public funding mechanisms, infrastructure finance, or climate/energy transition projects is highly valuable
• Stakeholder Competence: Confident presence with senior decision-makers; comfortable leading negotiations with banks, government agencies, and institutional investors
• Languages: Fluent German (negotiation-level) and very good English required
• Mindset: Structured work approach, high self-motivation, excellent analytical capabilities, and genuine interest in energy and climate transformation topics
