About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential software organization based in Munich that is seeking an experienced Team Lead – Software Development. In this role, you will guide a cross-functional team of 4-6 developers while remaining hands-on with code contributions. Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a cross-functional team of 4-6 software developers, providing both disciplinary and technical guidance
• Contribute to the development of core software components alongside your team
• Conduct hands-on development work and maintain high quality standards through active code reviews
• Serve as coach, motivator, and sparring partner depending on team needs
• Run regular 1:1 meetings and provide constructive feedback to team members
• Support the personal and career development of individual developers
• Foster team culture and cohesion through team events and engagement initiatives
• Lead hiring efforts for new team members in alignment with engineering management
• Take accountability for team results and delivery timelines

What We're Looking For

• University degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of hands-on development experience in Python; experience with C++ or Rust is a strong plus
• Proven experience managing or leading a development team, including hiring, conducting 1:1s, delivering feedback, and building high-performing teams
• Strong technical background with continued interest in writing code while expanding your impact through leadership
• Demonstrated ability to deliver quality code on time while guiding team output
• Positive energy and motivating presence that inspires team members
• Fluency in English (required); fluency in German is highly desirable
• Product-oriented mindset focused on building exceptional user experiences
• Strong written communication skills and ability to work effectively in an asynchronous, remote-first environment
• Comfort working in international, distributed teams
