About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential life sciences technology organization that connects patients with clinical research opportunities across 50+ countries. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Business Development Director to join their international commercial organization based in Hamburg, Germany.

In this role, you will drive new business development across the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, and CRO sectors. You'll be responsible for building strategic partnerships, managing key accounts, and contributing to the expansion of patient access solutions that accelerate medical innovation.

Responsibilities

  • Prospect, develop, and close new business opportunities within pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, and contract research organizations
  • Grow and manage strategic customer accounts while expanding the existing client portfolio
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, distributors, and key opinion leaders across the life sciences ecosystem
  • Represent the organization at industry conferences, networking events, and client meetings
  • Maintain accurate sales pipeline documentation and provide reliable revenue forecasts
  • Support leadership in achieving commercial objectives and identifying opportunities for product, service, and process improvements
  • Act as a trusted advisor by bringing market intelligence and challenging existing approaches to drive continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Life Sciences, Marketing, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 8 years of sales and business development experience with proven track record of achieving commercial targets
  • Demonstrated experience working with large pharmaceutical companies, biotechnology firms, CROs, or the broader life sciences industry
  • Experience across commercial and marketing disciplines including communications, demand generation, and product marketing in international markets
  • Background supporting or leading large-scale patient recruitment campaigns
  • Proven success building strategic client relationships and driving measurable business growth
  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Experience hiring, mentoring, and developing high-performing commercial or marketing talent is a plus
  • Self-driven, strategic, and customer-focused with ability to build lasting partnerships

Additional details: Full-time, permanent position based in Hamburg, Germany. Flexible working hours and remote work options available.
