Proposal & Communications Consultant (Virtual, US)

Role Overview

We are representing a confidential global services organization in their search for a Proposal & Communications Consultant to join their sales support team on a virtual basis within the United States.

This senior-level role serves as a strategic business partner to sales and account management teams, supporting new business pursuits and client retention through the development of high-quality RFP/RFI responses, proposals, and sales materials. You'll work closely with sales leaders from the initial stages of each pursuit, developing comprehensive action plans and providing critical research, competitive intelligence, and documentation to drive success.

Responsibilities

Pursuit Support (70%)

• Develop written proposals, RFP/RFI responses, and related follow-up materials with limited direction
• Create presentation materials supporting sales pursuits and account management activities
• Provide early-stage consultation with sales teams regarding opportunities and win strategies
• Conduct research and provide internal support to complement client-facing sales efforts
• Leverage RFP management tools and GenAI platforms to source optimal responses
• Lead project planning, kick-off sessions, and strategy meetings with response teams
• Manage workflow, deadlines, and coordination across global business units and subject matter experts
• Ensure compliance with client requirements and on-time proposal delivery
• Document successful solutions for team knowledge sharing

Content Development & Research (20%)

• Interview subject matter experts and sales professionals to gather information for tailored responses
• Conduct independent market research on clients and prospects to add strategic value
• Develop new responses and boilerplate materials for future use
• Gather, organize, and develop proposal attachments
• Perform peer reviews and editing for team members' materials

Knowledge Management (10%)

• Conduct proactive research on industry trends and updates
• Collaborate with subject matter experts for current information
• Maintain database accuracy and consistency of messaging themes

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• Prior experience in marketing, communications, sales, or related roles
• Strong written communication skills with exceptional command of English grammar and structure
• Proven ability to manage high-volume, deadline-sensitive workloads
• Excellent proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
• Self-motivated professional requiring minimal supervision

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years' experience in proposal development and RFP/RFI responses
• Experience with RFP management tools such as Qvidian or Loopio
• Experience using GenAI tools to facilitate content creation
• Background developing infographics and visual content
• Ability to provide strategic recommendations based on industry experience
