Senior Backend Developer (Token Factory)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential cloud infrastructure organization seeking a Senior Backend Developer to join their distributed team in London. In this role, you will:

• Scale distributed systems to handle significantly increased AI workloads while maintaining performance and reliability across enterprise deployments
• Enhance system stability and uptime to meet enterprise-grade expectations for production AI infrastructure
• Optimize AI performance by continuously adapting to new models, hardware configurations, and runtime improvements
• Build and expand platform capabilities beyond core inference into broader AI infrastructure, including data pipelines and advanced usage features
• Develop web services using primarily Go and Python to support high-load, mission-critical operations
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams focused on infrastructure, observability, billing, and AI research
• Evolve the platform architecture from lightweight integration layers into comprehensive systems with custom infrastructure and deeper performance control

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional software development experience
• Strong software engineering skills with proficiency in Python and Go
• Experience with contemporary software engineering approaches including CI/CD, version control, and unit testing
• Proven experience developing web services at scale
• Commitment to maintaining extreme rigor in all technical activities

Preferred qualifications:

• Previous experience working with language models or similar NLP technologies
• Track record of building and delivering products in dynamic, fast-paced environments
• Experience developing large distributed systems or high-load web services
• Open-source contributions that demonstrate strong engineering capabilities
