Senior Backend Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cloud infrastructure organization seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to join their distributed team. This role offers the flexibility to work remotely or from office locations across Europe, including Prague, Berlin, London, and Amsterdam.

Our client is building hyperscale cloud platforms that support the modern AI economy, with a focus on fault-tolerant and reliable distributed systems. You'll be working on critical infrastructure components including managed databases, container orchestration, billing systems, and monitoring platforms.

Responsibilities

As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will:

• Develop and maintain fault-tolerant, reliable cloud services at scale
• Build cloud infrastructure components and managed service offerings
• Work on managed Kubernetes, billing systems, and monitoring platforms
• Contribute to ML service infrastructure and related backend systems
• Collaborate with engineering teams across multiple time zones
• Write reliable, production-grade code primarily in Golang, with some work in Java and Python
• Investigate and resolve complex technical challenges in distributed systems

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Excellent knowledge of Golang, or strong willingness and ability to transition to Golang quickly
• Proven ability to write reliable, maintainable code
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to dig into complex technical issues
• Teamwork-oriented approach and effective collaboration skills
• Authorization to work in the country where you apply

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience designing high-load and scaling services
• Background in distributed systems and cloud infrastructure
