Senior Backend Developer (m/w/d) – AI-Driven Development

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential technology consultancy seeking a Senior Backend Developer to shape technical direction rather than simply execute tickets. You will combine years of backend experience with modern AI coding tools to build scalable systems and make lasting decisions about software architecture.

In this role, you will:

• Design and deliver complex backend solutions from technical concept through production deployment, taking ownership of software architecture, APIs, data models, and integrations with genuine influence over technology decisions and development standards
• Leverage AI coding tools and coding agents productively for implementation, refactoring, testing, and error analysis while applying senior-level judgment to critically evaluate AI-generated code for quality, security, and maintainability
• Develop modern AI-supported applications and services, integrate LLM APIs and external systems, and collaborate closely with product owners, business stakeholders, and fellow developers to transform technological possibilities into usable solutions

What We're Looking For

• 7 to 10 years of professional backend development experience with strong foundations in software architecture, APIs, databases, clean code practices, and automated testing
• Deep expertise in at least one established backend technology such as Python, Java, C#, TypeScript, or Node.js, complemented by confident use of Git and CI/CD workflows
• Demonstrable hands-on experience with coding agents like Codex, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or comparable tools—including prompt/context engineering and responsible quality assurance of generated results
• Technical ownership mindset, enthusiasm for collaboration and knowledge transfer, and fluency in German with good English proficiency
