About the Role

As Scientific Director, Medical Communications at Prime, you'll lead the strategic development and execution of medical communications across multiple channels and therapeutic areas. This role bridges scientific rigor with effective communication, ensuring that all content meets the highest standards of accuracy, compliance, and regulatory requirements while resonating with our target healthcare audiences.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee medical communications strategies aligned with organizational objectives and regulatory requirements
  • Lead the creation and review of medical content, including publications, scientific posters, abstracts, and healthcare professional communications
  • Manage relationships with medical writers, subject matter experts, and cross-functional teams to ensure consistent, scientifically sound messaging
  • Ensure all materials maintain compliance with pharmaceutical and medical device regulations
  • Direct the medical information function and respond to scientific inquiries from healthcare professionals
  • Build and mentor a team of medical communications professionals
  • Collaborate with clinical, regulatory, and marketing departments to translate scientific data into clear, actionable communication

What We're Looking For

  • Advanced degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent advanced qualification) in life sciences, medicine, or related field
  • Minimum 8+ years of experience in medical communications, medical affairs, clinical development, or related function
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing teams and strategic initiatives
  • Deep knowledge of regulatory requirements governing medical communications and healthcare marketing
  • Excellent scientific writing and editing skills with the ability to distil complex information
  • Strong project and stakeholder management capabilities
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively across functions in a matrix environment
