Risk Management Director

Role Overview

Gilbane, Inc. is seeking an experienced Risk Management Director to establish and execute comprehensive risk frameworks that protect our business and project portfolio. You'll serve as a strategic partner to Division Leaders and Regional teams, managing risk assessment protocols, monitoring program traction, and delivering targeted Business Unit support. This role combines technical expertise with leadership acumen, requiring a collaborative professional who thrives in complex, enterprise-wide environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct rigorous project and subcontractor risk assessments to identify exposure and develop mitigation strategies
• Oversee enterprise risk management initiatives and ensure adherence to policies and regulatory requirements across the organization
• Monitor program performance and key risk indicators, reporting findings to senior leadership
• Provide strategic Business Unit support and risk consultation to division and regional management teams
• Build and maintain relationships with Division Leaders and Regional managers to embed risk management in everyday operations
• Collaborate on insurance procurement, claims management, and loss prevention efforts
• Design training programs that strengthen organizational risk awareness and management competency

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in risk management, business administration, insurance, engineering, or related field
• 7+ years of progressive risk management experience in construction, engineering, or industrial sectors
• Demonstrated success managing enterprise-level risk programs and cross-functional initiatives
• Technical knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, compliance frameworks, and insurance principles
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills across all organizational levels
• Strong leadership and team management capabilities
• Professional certifications such as PRM, ARM, or RIMS preferred
