About the Role

As a Registered Nurse on our cardiology unit, you'll provide evidence-based nursing care to patients experiencing cardiac conditions, post-operative recovery, and cardiac interventions. This E4-level role combines clinical responsibility with ongoing professional growth, ideal for nurses ready to advance beyond entry-level practice while maintaining close mentorship and support.

What You'll Do

• Assess, monitor, and respond to acute changes in cardiac patients' conditions
• Prepare patients for and support recovery from cardiac procedures and interventions
• Administer medications, manage IV therapies, and perform wound care with precision and accountability
• Collaborate with cardiologists, intensivists, and interdisciplinary care teams to develop and execute patient-centered treatment plans
• Educate patients and families on cardiac health, recovery protocols, and discharge instructions
• Maintain detailed, accurate clinical documentation and utilize electronic health records
• Participate in unit-level quality initiatives, safety improvements, and continuing education

What We're Looking For

• Current Connecticut RN license or compact state license eligible for Connecticut
• Graduate nurse certificate (GN) or recent RN graduation accepted for new-to-practice candidates
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; ACLS preferred
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Clinical attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and quality outcomes
• Adaptability in a fast-paced acute-care setting with fluctuating patient acuity
