About the Role

As a Graduate Nurse on our Progressive Care Unit (PCU) at the E3 level, you'll provide direct patient care in a structured environment designed to build your nursing foundation. You'll work every other weekend with rotating holiday schedules, allowing you to balance meaningful work with personal time. The PCU serves as the ideal stepping stone for new graduates—managing patients with moderate acuity while you develop clinical judgment and confidence.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver compassionate, evidence-based patient care across your assigned census
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments and document findings in electronic health records
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—physicians, therapists, and support staff—to optimize patient outcomes
  • Respond promptly to patient needs and communicate changes in condition to the care team
  • Support patient and family education regarding treatment plans and post-discharge care
  • Maintain safe practice standards and comply with hospital policies and protocols
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement and professional development activities

What We're Looking For

  • Current Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license or valid license by hire date
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program and passage of the NCLEX-RN
  • Strong communication and critical thinking skills
  • Willingness to learn and openness to feedback in a supportive environment
  • Commitment to patient-centered care and professional integrity
