About the Role

This full-time position is part of Backus Hospital's commitment to delivering exceptional oncology services across New London County. As an RN or GN on the Oncology A2 unit, you'll be at the center of patient-focused care, working alongside a multidisciplinary team dedicated to supporting individuals through cancer treatment and recovery.

What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care to individuals receiving chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and other oncology treatments
• Monitor and assess patient responses to treatment, reporting changes and concerns to the care team
• Administer medications accurately and safely according to established protocols
• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records and documentation
• Educate patients and families about their treatment plan and self-care strategies
• Collaborate with physicians, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate comprehensive care
• Provide emotional and informational support to patients navigating their cancer journey

What We're Looking For

• Current Connecticut RN (Registered Nurse) license or valid Graduate Nurse status
• Clinical knowledge of oncology nursing principles and practices
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to manage multiple patients with compassion and attention to detail
• Commitment to patient advocacy and person-centered care
• Ability to work effectively within a collaborative healthcare team
