Registered Nurse – Graduate Nurse (RN, GN) – Surgical A4

Join Backus Hospital's Surgical A4 unit as a Registered Nurse or Graduate Nurse in South Killingly, Windham County. About the Role

You'll work a 24-hour weekly schedule, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, on a surgical nursing unit where your clinical skills and patient advocacy make a direct impact. This role includes rotating holidays and every-other-weekend assignments as part of a dedicated healthcare team.

What You'll Do

• Provide direct patient care for pre-operative, post-operative, and acute surgical patients
• Monitor vital signs, assess patient status, and respond to changing clinical needs
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient recovery
• Document nursing care accurately and maintain detailed patient records
• Educate patients and families about surgical procedures, recovery expectations, and post-discharge care
• Uphold infection control and safety protocols in the surgical environment
• Support the efficiency and safety of surgical operations through coordinated teamwork

What We're Looking For

• Current RN licensure or active GN designation in Connecticut
• Strong foundation in clinical assessment and patient communication
• Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced surgical setting
• Commitment to patient safety and evidence-based nursing practice
