Position Summary
As a Produce Inspector with Sysco, you'll conduct quality assurance inspections on incoming and outgoing produce shipments at our New Mexico distribution facility. Your work directly impacts the freshness, safety, and quality of products delivered to restaurants, foodservice operations, and retail partners throughout the region. You'll be responsible for identifying substandard items, documenting findings, and coordinating with operations teams to maintain our high standards.
Responsibilities
- Inspect produce shipments for quality, ripeness, damage, and compliance with Sysco specifications
- Grade and sort produce according to established standards and customer requirements
- Document inspection results, defects, and corrective actions in company systems
- Communicate quality issues to warehouse and purchasing teams promptly
- Maintain accurate records and reports to support traceability and compliance
- Support food safety protocols and company quality policies
- Work collaboratively with team members to resolve quality concerns
