Responsibilities

• Write high-quality, well-designed, and thoroughly tested Python software
• Collaborate effectively with a globally distributed engineering team
• Demonstrate technical leadership within internal teams and open-source communities
• Debug complex issues and deliver robust solutions
• Contribute to comprehensive technical documentation
• Participate in team meetings and strategy sessions (travel required approximately twice per year)

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Strong academic background with an undergraduate degree in Computer Science, STEM, or equivalent professional experience
• Proven experience writing modern, maintainable, idiomatic Python code
• Professional experience with Linux environments (Debian or Ubuntu preferred)
• Self-starting, well-organized professional capable of meeting deadlines independently
• Excellent written and spoken English communication skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
• Conscientiousness and attention to detail, with focus on performance optimization
• Ability to travel internationally twice per year for company events (up to two weeks each)

Valuable additional experience:

• Container technologies such as LXD, Docker, or Kubernetes
• Additional programming languages including Golang, Rust, C, or C++
• Build systems, toolchains, and cross-compilation
• Web or Flutter front-end development
• REST and gRPC API design and implementation
• SQL and NoSQL databases
• Public cloud platforms or OpenStack
• Debian/Ubuntu packaging
• Systems programming or scalable web services
• Performance engineering and security practices
