IoT Solutions Architecture Manager (Americas only)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential open-source technology organization seeking an IoT Solutions Architecture Manager to lead a regionally focused team of field engineers across the Americas. This is a fully remote leadership role supporting presales and professional services in the embedded Linux and IoT space.

Our client enables companies to build secure, connected device fleets at scale. Their platform powers mission-critical control systems, gateways, and appliances across industries requiring stringent security and quality standards. As manager, you'll lead technical thought leaders who help customers solve complex embedded challenges and advance edge computing strategies.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a distributed team of field engineers ranging from graduate to senior level across presales and professional services functions
• Serve as a trusted technical advisor, promoting solutions and solving customer problems in the IoT and embedded Linux domain
• Coach, mentor, and provide career development guidance to team members
• Identify and track team health metrics and performance indicators
• Implement disciplined engineering processes and best practices across the team
• Represent your team to stakeholders, partners, and customers in strategic engagements
• Collaborate with leadership peers to align on goals, strategy, and execution
• Plan and manage progress on agreed team objectives and customer projects
• Evangelize engineering excellence and foster continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field with exceptional academic performance
• Extensive embedded Linux experience with build systems such as Yocto or similar frameworks
• Deep Linux system knowledge (Debian or Ubuntu experience strongly preferred)
• Proficiency in at least one of: Golang, Python, C, C++, or Rust
• Proven experience managing technical teams
• Track record of successful customer engagements in technical or presales roles
• Professional written and spoken English fluency
• Excellent interpersonal skills with curiosity, flexibility, and accountability
• Results-oriented mindset with strong commitment to meeting objectives
• Ability to translate technical capabilities into business value for customers
• Humble learner who adapts quickly to new technologies and methodologies

Desirable: RTOS experience, additional programming or human languages, prior remote-first or distributed team experience, low-level boot/BIOS/firmware knowledge.
