Threat Intelligence Lead

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential open source software organization in their search for a Threat Intelligence Lead. This is a remote position reporting to the CISO, where you will own the entire threat intelligence strategy and execution for a company whose products reach organizations and households worldwide.

You will lead intelligence gathering on threat actors targeting software supply chains, study attack trends across the open source landscape, and position the organization as a thought leader in open source threat intelligence. Your work will directly impact the security posture of countless community members and companies globally.

Responsibilities

• Build and own enterprise-wide threat intelligence strategy
• Develop and maintain OSINT research environments, tradecraft, principles, and techniques
• Identify and track targeted intrusion cyber threats, trends, and developments by analyzing proprietary and open source datasets
• Coordinate adversary and campaign tracking across teams
• Contribute to the wider threat intelligence community, establishing thought leadership in the space
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to explain cybersecurity threats and advise on mitigation strategies
• Work with operations security and information security teams to implement and update security controls
• Identify intelligence gaps and propose new tools and research projects
• Conduct briefings for executives, internal stakeholders, and external customers

What We're Looking For

Required:

• Proven experience as a threat intelligence leader or similar senior role
• Deep knowledge of the current open source threat landscape and computer networking/infrastructure concepts
• High competency with OSINT tools such as Buscador, Trace Labs OSINT VM, OSINT Framework, Maltego, Shodan, and social media scraping tools
• Ability to identify, organize, catalogue, and track adversary tradecraft trends with incomplete data
• Experience using threat intelligence data to influence enterprise architecture or product development decisions
• Excellent communication skills with ability to tailor technical content for varied audiences
• Ability to travel twice yearly for company events up to two weeks long

Desired:

• Professional portfolio of OSINT-related scripts, tools, or frameworks
• Demonstrated involvement in the larger OSINT community
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information security, or related field
• Relevant certifications (GOSI, SANS SEC487/SEC587, IntelTechniques OSIP, etc.)
• Experience in tech companies or government/military signal intelligence departments
