Engineering Manager

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization experiencing rapid growth in the payments space. Our client is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead backend engineering teams in a fully remote capacity.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll drive technical strategy, mentor engineers, and deliver high-impact projects that support millions of users globally. You'll work with modern distributed systems at scale and help shape the engineering culture of a fast-moving organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead large cross-team projects from planning through production delivery
• Contribute to quarterly planning and technical roadmap definition
• Review feature designs and ensure non-functional requirements are addressed
• Oversee technical debt management and incident response processes
• Hire, evaluate, mentor, and motivate engineering team members
• Build cross-team and cross-functional collaboration to increase delivery efficiency
• Foster a results-oriented and business-focused engineering culture
• Monitor and improve key team performance indicators
• Ensure process transparency and clear communication with stakeholders
• Continuously optimize processes to improve team productivity

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of backend engineering experience with strong fundamentals in building reliable, scalable systems (Go experience is a plus)
• 2+ years of experience as an Engineering Manager, ideally in fast-paced fintech or e-commerce environments
• Proven experience building scalable, distributed systems and working with high-load architectures
• Solid understanding of backend technologies including PostgreSQL, Redis, Kubernetes, Google Cloud Platform, and microservices architecture
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and contributing to product development
• Passion for writing clean, testable, and maintainable code
• Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently
• Strong communication skills in English
