About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI organization seeking an Applied AI Engineer to join their team in Paris, France. This is a hybrid role requiring 3 days per week in the office, with relocation assistance available.

Our client works at the forefront of AI-powered software development, helping engineering organizations transform how they build, test, and deliver software. You'll partner directly with leading technology companies to design and deploy production AI systems that measurably improve developer productivity and engineering workflows.

Responsibilities

• Partner with engineering leaders and development teams to identify high-value opportunities for AI-assisted coding and translate them into technical architectures, implementation plans, and evaluation strategies
• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered development workflows that improve how teams plan, write, test, review, debug, and deliver software
• Work hands-on in code to build prototypes, evaluation frameworks, reference implementations, integrations, and production accelerators
• Guide customers from proof-of-concept through reliable production deployment, ensuring sustained adoption and scaled impact across engineering organizations
• Design systematic evaluation approaches using representative software engineering tasks, automated grading, production signals, and developer feedback
• Make technical decisions across models, agents, tools, developer environments, integrations, reliability, observability, latency, cost, safety, and security
• Diagnose complex implementation challenges, reproduce failures, test hypotheses, and resolve technical blockers
• Lead technical workshops and hands-on enablement sessions that help engineering teams adopt advanced AI coding workflows safely and effectively
• Gather insights from real-world deployments and translate them into clear product proposals and technical requirements for internal teams
• Create reusable architectures, tooling, examples, and technical patterns that accelerate future deployments
• Influence customer engineering strategy by helping technical leaders understand how AI coding systems can reshape their software development lifecycle

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated track record designing, building, and delivering software or AI systems in enterprise environments, taking systems from prototype to production
• Substantial personal contributions in code, architecture, evaluation, debugging, integrations, or production engineering you can point to
• High proficiency in Python and comfort across modern software development environments; experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, or other relevant languages valuable
• Active user of AI coding tools with a strong point of view on how AI can improve developer productivity and software engineering workflows
• Experience building prototypes, integrations, and production solutions that demonstrate what AI coding systems can enable
• Understanding of systematic evaluation for AI coding systems, including designing representative tasks, automated evaluations, and production signals
• Experience with enterprise production requirements such as developer tooling integrations, reliability, observability, security, privacy, data governance, performance, and cost
• Ability to connect technical decisions to developer workflows, adoption, engineering productivity, and measurable business outcomes
• Clear communication across hands-on engineers, engineering leaders, security teams, product leaders, and executives
• Comfort leading technical workshops that help engineering organizations adopt new development workflows and technologies
• High agency, strong technical judgment, and end-to-end ownership in ambiguous and rapidly evolving environments
• Quick learner who challenges assumptions constructively and collaborates with humility
• Fluent in both English and French
