About the Role
As a Clinical Supervisor with Hillsborough College, you will guide students enrolled in the Counseling and Human Services program throughout their field placements. You'll serve as a bridge between the classroom and real-world practice, ensuring each student gains meaningful, well-supported clinical experience at their assigned agency.
Key Responsibilities
- Meet weekly with each assigned student at their practicum location to review clinical performance, professional growth, and any personal matters affecting their work.
- Maintain ongoing communication with on-site agency supervisors to coordinate expectations and track student progress.
- Help students apply academic theory to hands-on counseling and human services practice.
- Identify learning needs and provide constructive, developmental feedback throughout the placement.
- Support students in navigating ethical, clinical, and interpersonal challenges encountered in the field.
Qualifications
- Background in counseling, human services, or a closely related field.
- Experience providing clinical supervision or mentoring to students or early-career practitioners.
- Familiarity with practicum or field placement settings within community agencies.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate with both students and agency partners.
- Commitment to ethical standards and to fostering student development.
