Hrhs at Hospice & HomeCare of Reno County is hiring a full-time Office Assistant to support our patient-centered administrative operations. If you're organized, detail-oriented, and drawn to meaningful work in healthcare, we'd like to meet you.

What This Role Involves

In this position, you'll serve as a key administrative resource for our hospice program. Your work will keep our office running smoothly while supporting clinical and administrative staff who provide compassionate end-of-life care to patients and families in Reno County. Every day, you'll contribute to the efficient operations that allow our team to focus on what matters most: supporting patients in their final chapters.

Responsibilities

  • Manage patient intake, scheduling, and appointment coordination for hospice services
  • Maintain and file patient records, medical documentation, and administrative files in compliance with privacy standards
  • Answer and screen incoming calls; direct inquiries to appropriate team members
  • Prepare reports, spreadsheets, and correspondence using office software
  • Support insurance verification, billing inquiries, and patient admission procedures
  • Facilitate communication between clinical staff, patients, and family members
  • Order and maintain office supplies and equipment
  • Assist with general clerical tasks and special projects as needed

What We're Looking For

  • Prior experience in an administrative or clerical role, ideally in healthcare
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn our EHR system
  • Clear communication skills in writing and in person
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
  • Genuine compassion for hospice patients and their loved ones
  • Accuracy and precision in data entry and record management
  • Ability to stay calm and focused in a dynamic healthcare environment
