Property & Energy Claims Advocate

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential insurance brokerage firm seeking a Property & Energy Claims Advocate in the United States. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to provide high-level claims advocacy and risk services to clients with complex property and energy portfolios.

As the Claims Advocate, you'll work alongside senior leadership and placement teams to deliver strategic claims management, from initial reporting through settlement negotiations. This position combines technical expertise with client relationship management in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with reporting claims to carriers, managing emergency services, and establishing proper documentation protocols
• Recommend and coordinate resources including restoration firms, engineering consultants, and claim preparation services
• Advocate for advance payments and partial payments to optimize client cash flow throughout the claims process
• Anticipate potential issues and maintain proactive communication with clients and adjustment teams
• Provide guidance on carrier coverage positions and advocate for clients when facing adverse coverage determinations
• Manage claims through timely follow-up activities and settlement negotiations to achieve fair outcomes
• Collaborate with placement teams on claims status updates and coverage concerns
• Develop customized service plans for claims handling based on individual client needs
• Support new business development efforts and RFP responses
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, independent adjusters, and vendor partners
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to practice development
• Stay current on marketplace trends and regulatory changes

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Risk Management, or related field, and/or 8-10 years of insurance experience with focus on property and energy claims
• Must hold or be able to obtain appropriate state broker licenses
• Demonstrated ability to lead client and market discussions with confidence and authority
• Strong critical thinking skills with ability to exercise sound judgment independently
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service capabilities
• Proven time management and prioritization skills in handling multiple complex claims
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) and claims management systems
• Strong listening skills and ability to build effective working relationships
• Team-oriented mindset with ability to collaborate across departments

Pay

Our client offers competitive compensation based on experience, with a target range of $150,000 - $180,000 annually.
