Technical Product Manager – AI Neobank App

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization building next-generation financial products across Southeast Asia. Our client is developing an AI-powered platform that spans payments, remittance, insurance, wealth management, and trading. This is a rare opportunity to own a complete product vertical in a high-stakes, regulated environment where technical excellence and product judgment are equally critical.

We're seeking a Technical Product Manager who can navigate the complexity of building products that move real money—where reliability isn't negotiable, regulatory requirements are foundational, and AI must be applied thoughtfully, not indiscriminately.

Responsibilities

• Own a product vertical end-to-end, including strategy, metrics, roadmap, priorities, and delivery
• Shape technical design with engineering teams across APIs, data flows, ledgering, reconciliation, failure handling, security, and scalability
• Drive trade-offs across correctness, speed, cost, reliability, regulatory requirements, and user experience
• Build regulatory requirements into the product across KYC, transaction monitoring, limits, privacy, and licensing
• Apply AI where it genuinely improves outcomes, with clear evaluation, safeguards, human oversight, and failure handling
• Ship products around external dependencies, including regulatory approvals, financial rails, and third-party partners
• Align Engineering, Design, Compliance, Operations, Treasury, and Finance around clear product decisions and launch requirements

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years of product management experience, including ownership of complex technical products from strategy through production
• Strong technical foundation across system architecture, APIs, databases, workflows, failure modes, and distributed systems
• Experience working closely with engineers and ability to review, challenge, and contribute to technical designs
• Experience in payments, banking, remittance, insurance, trading, or another regulated, high-consequence product domain
• Strong product judgment and ability to make difficult trade-offs under technical, regulatory, and operational constraints
• Experience building with LLMs or AI products, including evaluation, reliability, and understanding when AI should not be used
• Strong English communication skills for working across global teams

Nice to Have:

• Engineering or highly technical product background
• Experience building zero-to-one fintech or consumer products
• Experience defining evaluation frameworks for ML or LLM-powered products

Location: Malaysia (hybrid – minimum 3 days per week in office)
