Project Manager (Software Development) – Remote, Latin America

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential software consultancy operating across the Americas. They deliver high-impact technology solutions for clients in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join their distributed team remotely from Ecuador.

This role is perfect for a seasoned PM who excels at managing complex software delivery against firm deadlines, coordinating distributed engineering teams, and maintaining strong client relationships. You'll oversee multiple concurrent workstreams while ensuring quality, scope, and timeline commitments are met.

Responsibilities

• Lead software development projects from initiation through delivery, managing scope, budget, resourcing, and timelines across multiple concurrent workstreams
• Deliver against fixed external deadlines using critical-path planning and buffer management techniques
• Maintain and manage client dependency registers with required-by dates, owners, and clear escalation paths
• Oversee formal risk registers and implement change-control processes to protect project integrity
• Coordinate third-party vendor dependencies including contracts, credentials, and integration timelines
• Run Agile/Scrum or Kanban teams, facilitating ceremonies and ensuring team productivity
• Define milestone/gate-based acceptance criteria and deliver client-facing status reporting
• Translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and executives
• Identify, track, and mitigate project risks and dependencies proactively
• Manage project tracking tools such as Jira, Asana, or similar platforms

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of professional experience managing software development projects
• Proven track record delivering against immovable external deadlines (product launches, trade shows, regulatory deadlines)
• Substantial background working with large, complex systems and distributed engineering teams
• Experience with formal project governance including risk registers, change control, and dependency management
• Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to communicate effectively across technical and business audiences
• Hands-on experience running Agile/Scrum or Kanban teams
• Proficiency with project management and tracking tools (Jira, Asana, or similar)
• Ability to overlap with US business hours
• Bachelor's degree required
• Extreme ownership mentality with meticulous attention to detail
• Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution abilities
• Positive, can-do attitude with dedication to team commitments

Preferred: PMP, CSM, or PSM certification; experience with regulatory/compliance projects; experience with nearshore US-LATAM delivery models
