Professional Services Engineer II – West

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential client in the workflow automation space who is seeking a Professional Services Engineer II to join their Customer Success organization. This remote position is based in the Mountain or Pacific time zones and offers the opportunity to work with enterprise customers on technical implementations of intelligent automation solutions.

In this role, you'll serve as a technical authority, guiding customers through the design, build, and deployment of automation workflows. You'll work closely with customers to scope requirements, integrate tools via APIs, and deliver production-ready solutions that transform their operations. This position requires strong consultancy skills and the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to customers navigating their automation journey.

The role reports to a Senior Manager based in Boston and requires collaboration with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Sales, and Customer Success.

Responsibilities

• Design and build complex automation workflows based on customer requirements and business needs
• Scope automation projects, identifying technical blockers and research areas needed for successful implementation
• Analyze customer tools, processes, and pain points to help establish automation roadmaps
• Connect enterprise applications using APIs, working with various authentication methods including OAuth2 and JWT
• Demonstrate workflow concepts to customers, including live wire-framing during client calls
• Partner with Project Managers and Engagement Managers to align on project plans, timelines, and success criteria
• Review and optimize customer workflows, providing guidance on best practices and architecture design
• Deliver documented, production-ready automation solutions and ensure customers can maintain them long-term
• Serve as an embedded automation engineer for customers, acting as part of their team to achieve automation goals
• Contribute to the development of Professional Services processes and procedures
• Advocate for Professional Services capabilities across the organization, working with Sales teams on positioning

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of experience delivering Professional Services and implementing SOAR platforms or similar automation solutions
• Strong customer-facing skills with experience in a consultancy role
• Proven ability to serve as a trusted advisor, guiding customers on best practices and platform adoption strategies
• Experience interpreting and applying API documentation across various security and IT tools
• Proficiency with API authentication methods including OAuth2 and JWT
• Experience troubleshooting API integrations with diverse enterprise tools
• General understanding of LLMs, agents, and automation models, including their capabilities and limitations
• Ability to craft and refine prompts for reliable, accurate outputs
• Skill in translating platform capabilities into customer-specific use cases
• Understanding of AI-driven versus deterministic workflow approaches
• Passion for helping customers automate repetitive and manual processes
• Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship

Pay

Target annual earnings (salary + commission): $120,000-$145,000
