Senior Finance Manager (f/m/x)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential fintech organization in Germany that is building modern infrastructure for capital markets access. Our talent team is searching for a Senior Finance Manager to join their growing Finance function in a hybrid role based in Germany.

This is a hands-on role where you'll build and scale finance processes from the ground up, working directly with the VP of Finance and collaborating across Product, Risk Management, and Compliance teams. You'll be instrumental in establishing robust financial operations that support regulated investment products while maintaining the agility of a scaling organization.

Responsibilities

• Manage and optimize Finance processes across Accounting, Regulatory Reporting, Planning, and Controlling
• Collaborate on strategic projects to transition processes into scalable, best-in-class workflows
• Serve as primary point of contact for external auditors, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality documentation
• Partner with management to build, monitor, and refine annual financial plans and timelines
• Support product development by defining functional requirements, establishing test concepts, and documenting regulatory implications
• Bridge the gap between finance and product innovation, fostering knowledge-sharing across teams

What We're Looking For

• At least 5 years of experience in a finance function at a bank, fintech, regulated financial institution, or with a Big Four/leading audit firm
• Strong knowledge of German GAAP under HGB, including RechKredV or RechVersV; IFRS knowledge is a plus
• Experience with group accounting and consolidation preferred
• Proficiency in Excel for financial analysis, reporting, and process support; financial modeling experience is a plus
• Understanding of regulated financial environments; exposure to IFR or CRR frameworks particularly valuable
• Hands-on approach with ability to establish high-quality processes while remaining pragmatic
• Strong ownership mindset with intrinsic motivation to deliver value and challenge the status quo
• Excellent communication skills with ability to explain technical topics clearly to diverse audiences
• Experience working in startup or lean organizational environments
• Fluency in German or comfort working in a German-speaking regulatory environment (German fluency is a plus)
