Product Owner – Communications Channels & AI

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential client in the communication technology sector, and our talent team is seeking an experienced Product Owner to lead their technical product portfolio across cloud telephony, AI-driven communication tools, and customer engagement platforms.

This is a strategic product leadership role based in Manchester, working Monday-Friday, 8:45am-5:15pm. You'll own the evolution of multiple technical products, balancing client value, commercial performance, and operational excellence while driving adoption and retention across a diverse client base.

Responsibilities

• Own strategy, design, and performance of cloud telephony, AI receptionist, and customer contact engagement platforms
• Set and maintain a clear, prioritised product roadmap balancing client value, technical feasibility, commercial return, and operational capacity
• Define product standards, service models, and client journeys that enable consistent execution across customer success and technical production teams
• Lead technical product strategy including capability sequences, integrations, and service-model changes through H2 2026
• Manage AI product growth across horizontal capabilities and vertical use cases where the organisation has competitive advantage
• Design client experiences across onboarding, configuration, in-life usage, renewal, and offboarding for technical products
• Own commercial logic including pricing, customer acquisition cost, cost-to-serve, gross margin, and investment cases
• Operationalise partner resell models with clear pricing, service, process, and margin controls
• Work with technical and operations teams to define SLAs, runbooks, and support models for each product and release
• Maintain governance for launch decisions, technical dependencies, client escalations, and recurring provisioning issues
• Build structured feedback loops with customer success, sales, and technical teams to identify product problems worth solving
• Monitor product performance across adoption, usage, NPS, retention, revenue, margin, and operational friction

What We're Looking For

• Proven product ownership experience in technical products, particularly communication platforms or SaaS
• Strong background in cloud telephony, AI-powered communication tools, or customer engagement technologies
• Commercial acumen with demonstrated ability to manage P&L, pricing models, and margin performance
• Experience translating client needs and technology capabilities into scalable product roadmaps
• Track record of balancing multiple stakeholder priorities including clients, commercial teams, and technical delivery
• Ability to define service models and operational standards that enable consistent execution
• Strong analytical skills with experience using data to drive product decisions and measure outcomes
• Experience managing partner relationships and reseller models
• Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Understanding of product lifecycle management from design through renewal
• Ability to work autonomously while maintaining alignment across multiple teams
