Senior Financial Accountant

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential EdTech organization in their search for a Senior Financial Accountant based in London. This is a hands-on role where you'll drive the month-end close, maintain rigorous internal controls, and support statutory financial statements and annual audit processes. As you grow in the position, you'll take ownership of group consolidation and become a central engine for financial reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own the month-end and year-end close process, preparing journals, accruals, prepayments, and balance sheet reconciliations, and delivering the reporting pack
• Support group consolidation across multiple entities, including intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, and foreign exchange management
• Support technical accounting assessments, ad hoc finance projects, and development of group accounting policies (e.g., leases and share-based payments)
• Manage the prepared-by-client (PBC) list and audit request tracker, supporting the external audit process and maintaining auditor relationships
• Support preparation of UK statutory financial statements and compliance across other jurisdictions alongside external advisors
• Drive process improvement and automation across the finance function, documenting changes and leveraging modern workflow tools including NetSuite
• Support the group's financial controls and risk framework: document key controls, carry out testing, identify gaps, and develop remediation plans

What We're Looking For

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with 1–2 years of post-qualification experience
• Solid grounding in financial reporting and controls, built through practice, industry, or a multi-entity environment
• Hands-on experience with close and consolidation work, journals, reconciliations, intercompany eliminations, and FX across multiple entities and jurisdictions
• Experience with NetSuite or a comparable ERP system preferred
• Strong process improvement mindset: you treat financial processes as products and build scalable solutions, not just quick fixes
• Clear communicator who builds trust easily with auditors, external advisors, and internal stakeholders
• Curious about automation and AI tools to make financial processes faster and more reliable
• Highly adaptable with a strong willingness to learn and take on tasks outside your core job description
